Unless otherwise stated, meetings are in Meavy Parish Hall, starting at 7 pm with time for chat, refreshments and sometimes plant sales; the talks start at 7:30 pm. New members and visitors are always welcome, and the entrance fee is £5 for visitors. We look forward to meeting you. Outings
The Society organises a few self-drive visits to gardens, usually in the Spring and Summer. Once organised, details of these outings are shown here.
‘Dippers’, Shaugh Prior
Our first outing of the year is to ‘Dippers’ in Shaugh Prior on Wednesday the 11th of February, weather permitting. There should be snowdrops and hellebores out, and there is a wildlife area. The garden is ‘wildlife friendly’ according to Devon Wildlife Trust, so the owners, Stella and Roy, are grateful for donations to DWT. The aim is to meet in Shaugh Prior at 10:15-10:30; there is parking in the village and in the White Thorn Inn car park. ‘Dippers’ is a short walk (100 m) down a lane. Waterproof footwear is a good idea. The White Thorn Inn have agreed to open early (11:30) so that we can have coffee there. Buckland Cottage Nursery
Our second outing is to David Carver’s nursery in Buckland Monachorum, early afternoon on Tuesday, 24th of March. Further details to follow.
